For the T20I tri-series, which Namibia will host in Windhoek from August 28 to September 6, Zimbabwe has selected a 15-player team. All three co-hosts of the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will compete together in a single tournament when South Africa completes the three-team field.
The FNB-sponsored T20I series is scheduled to take place in Windhoek from August 28 to September 6, 2026. After defeating Australia and Sri Lanka in the group stage, the Chevrons advanced to the knockout stages of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, demonstrating their success in the game’s shortest format.
The team will be led by Sikandar Raza. Leg-spinner Graeme Cremer, who missed Zimbabwe’s most recent home series against Bangladesh and India while recuperating from a left-arm injury, is the main attraction. Kundai Matigimu, a hitter from Zimbabwe with a Test cap who has only made one appearance at that level, also merits a spot in the team.
Before the round-robin rankings are determined, each of the three teams will play each other twice in the group stage, giving each team six games. A team can bounce back from an early loss and still make it to the championship match because the top two countries at the end of that phase will compete in the final on September 6.
Zimbabwe’s campaign begins on Friday against South Africa and continues on Sunday against Namibia. Given the lack of two frontline pace bowlers, those back-to-back matches in the tournament’s first few days will put team depth and rotation to the test.
