During their current three-match Test series against the Pakistan National Cricket Team, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has taken an intriguing step. As the match at Headingley continues, five members of the first Test team have been compelled to participate in the County Championship. The players will represent their counties during the ongoing Test match at Headingley, as declared by the England and Wales Cricket Board on August 19.
Shoaib Bashir, Brydon Carse, Sam Cook, Matthew Fisher, and Ollie Pope are the five players who were set free. Before perhaps returning to the England setup before the Second Test, each will play county cricket for the duration of the round.
