Imam-ul-Haq, the opener for Pakistan, is reportedly unlikely to play in the current Lord’s Test match against England due to a grade-one rupture in his left calf. Imam is anticipated to miss about ten days due to the injury. After staying off the pitch after tea, the batter underwent scans at the end of the first day, according to Cricinfo, and the results confirmed the severity of the injury.
During the first day’s evening session, Imam had already been ejected from the pitch. On day two, as Pakistan’s first innings started, he did not bat; instead, Salman Agha took the pitch in his place. In response to England’s first-innings score of 290, Pakistan was bowled out for 110, giving the hosts a commanding lead as the game went on.
Cricinfo quotes Mohammad Ali saying, “I wouldn’t be able to tell you anything about it. I am aware of his status, but the team’s medical panel is better placed to answer you better.”
A low-grade calf strain was confirmed in the PCB’s official statement, which also stated that Imam’s development would be evaluated by the medical panel before to any final decision about his participation. The injury makes Imam’s series even more challenging.
