For IPL 2027, the Indian icons will collaborate as coaches, and Ganguly will greet Yuvraj with a special greeting. Yuvraj Singh and Sourav Ganguly are back together. And they have a fresh obstacle to overcome this time. Yuvraj and his former India captain Ganguly, who became head coach earlier this month, have been reunited as the Delhi Capitals’ assistant and batting coach for the 2027 Indian Premier League.
Yuvraj Singh will collaborate with Sourav Ganguly, the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, who was just appointed. The appointment was welcomed by Kiran Kumar Grandhi, founder of GMR Sports and co-owner of the Delhi Capitals.
In a Press Release, Gandhi said, “We are delighted to welcome Yuvraj Singh to Delhi Capitals as our Assistant and Batting Coach. His remarkable career, competitive spirit and deep understanding of the game make him a tremendous addition to our coaching setup. This marks his first formal coaching role in the IPL, and we are confident that his insights, winning mindset and ability to mentor players will make a meaningful difference to our players and our campaign. We look forward to working closely with him and wish him every success as he begins this exciting new chapter with Delhi Capitals.”
Seeing Ganguly and Yuvraj together once more has a unique quality. Yuvraj made his international debut in 2000 under Ganguly’s leadership, and he went on to become one of India’s most potent hitters. Yuvraj later contributed significantly to India’s victories in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. The two will now collaborate as coaches after more than 20 years of sharing the Indian dressing room.
Yuvraj is now at the center of the team’s batting development program ahead of IPL 2027 thanks to his appointment as Assistant and Batting Coach. He will work in a coaching system led by Sourav Ganguly, which unites two of India’s most renowned cricket players from the 2000s in one dugout. Yuvraj has never held an official IPL coaching post before. The team’s batting group is anticipated to gain from his knowledge in all three formats as well as his track record of winning games under duress.
Yuvraj said, “I am excited to begin a new chapter in my life with the Delhi Capitals. I have an old association with the franchise and know the owners well, which makes this a special opportunity for me. I’m also looking forward to teaming up with Dada, this time as coaches. Coaching is something I am truly passionate about, and I cannot wait to get started with this extremely talented squad. I’m sure it’s going to be an exciting journey for me, and I look forward to contributing to the team’s success.”
